Discuss the possible changes to root words and how they are usually used. For example how is the meaning and type of word transformed when 'happy' becomes 'happiness'. Have the students describe what type of word is needed to fill each gap, and then make the transformation to the word root provided. Have the students read the complete text out loud to become familiar with the vocabulary used.

Online homework: Discuss any problems or difficulties the student may be having.
Independent reading: Ask the student about what they have read in English during the last week. If you are reading a novel together, discuss the assigned reading and any vocabulary words/ writing assignments.
Discussion: How important is it to maintain certain traditions? What is an example of a tradition in your country that you think should be preserved? What is an example of a tradition that you think is outdated?

15mins: Mini-task: Have students write a short persuasive piece of writing either defending or calling for the end of a tradition in their country. Encourage them to use some of the useful phrases introduced during the discussion.
**15mins: **Module 3 - Student Podcast. Students finalise their audio scripts and will practise reading them out loud. Students who are ready will begin recording. Students who are not ready will be expected to record their audio in the following week.
**05mins: **Warm down: Goodbye, see you next time. Encourage students to do additional reading for vocabulary building outside of the lesson. News articles, short stories, and novels are all great examples.
