Discuss the possible changes to root words and how they are usually used. For example how is the meaning and type of word transformed when 'happy' becomes 'happiness'. Have the students describe what type of word is needed to fill each gap, and then make the transformation to the word root provided. Have the students read the complete text out loud to become familiar with the vocabulary used.

Online homework: Discuss any problems or difficulties the student may be having.
Independent reading: Ask the student about what they have read in English during the last week. If you are reading a novel together, discuss the assigned reading and any vocabulary words/ writing assignments.

10mins: Have the student write an outline for each of the prompts available on the page. They will detail what they would discuss if it were obligatory to write a piece for each one. Have students make a list of high-level words and phrases which could be used for each prompt. While the student is writing the outlines, mark their writing response. Discuss the piece of writing together, introducing any new vocabulary words or phrases which could enhance their writing based on the given topics.
**05mins: **Warm down: Goodbye, see you next time. Encourage students to do additional reading for vocabulary building outside of the lesson. News articles, short stories, and novels are all great examples.
