04 First Reading Part 4

10mins - Conversation: How does social media impact our lives? What is FOMO? Do you think social media is good or bad? What ways can it help people? What ways can it hurt them? Do you use social media?

10mins - Revision: Passive speaking: The passive verb is formed by using the verb 'to be' followed by the past participle. Ex: Active: The police officer saw the robber at the airport. Passive: The robber was seen at the airport. The passive is used when:

  • we don't know who or what did something: My phone has been stolen.
  • the action is more important than the person who did it: Income tax was introduced in England in 1798.
  • It is obvious who or what did something: The thief has been arrested.
