10mins - Conversation: Speaking part 1 - Where are you from? What do you like most about the house or apartment you live in? What do you think is the best day of the week? Why? Tell us about a TV programme you really like. (Ask each student one question and have them answer with a 30-second response. Speaking part 1 is designed to help the students relax and speak about familiar information. Students must provide more than a 'yes' or 'no' answer during this task, so encourage them to elaborate on their answers.
05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.
10mins - Review: Phrasal verbs and linking expressions. Use flashcards for reinforcement.
10mins- Review: Prepositions - 'In' 'On' and 'At'? -- In (general) - for someone or something within a limited area. (P) 'She was in London.' All or part of a period of time. (M) 'in the afternoon, in winter.' On (more specific) - A point on a fixed line. (P) 'She lives on Charles street.' Dates, days, special days. 'Her birthday is on December 3. (M) At (most specific) An exact point. 'She lives at 23 Charles Street. We will meet her at the cafe.' A point of time, day or seasons. (M) 'She will be here at 3 p.m. Discuss: by, beside, beyond, between, among, with, for, until, during etc.
