25 First Listening Part 2

10mins - Conversation: What do you think are the most challenging parts of school life for Italian high school students? How might school be different for high school students in other countries? Compare and contrast.

Speaking Part 1 Practice Questions: Use the speaking part 1 help card. This section includes questions about personal life and hobbies.

05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.

15mins - Review: the essay paragraphs which were assigned as homework. Correct any errors, and discuss any problems or difficulties. Students should correct their essay for homework and bring it with them to the next lesson. Assign the conclusion paragraph for homework.

15mins - Test: 25 listening practice - part 2 - Review the answers.

10mins - Test: 25 speaking practice - Part 1 - Review the answers.

05mins - Warm-down, goodbye, see you next time.

00mins - Homework: Complete the next section of the online homework.

Test Tip

1) In part 1, the examiner leads a general conversation with each student in turn.

2) Students won't speak to each other.

3) Practise giving information about yourself and your routines.

4) Students will need to give longer, more detailed answers.

5) Don’t memorise answers for the test, as they don’t sound very natural.

6) Practice rapid-fire questioning with students to encourage spontaneous responses.
