This worksheet can be a bit dry to teach, but it will become a useful reference guide for the students after they've completed it. Show them to pay attention to any pronouns used in the provided words and be consistent with them. Remind them that the third person singular verbs end with an 's' in the present form (she eats).
As they work to complete the table, select some of the words and ask them to use it in an example sentence.
The words chosen are useful words to know, but many of them aren't regular so they may need help figuring out the spelling of the past form. If they feel overwhelmed about all the different forms and spelling, reassure them that they'll become more familiar with practice. So, use these words in lessons regularly to help them get used to them. Connecting the vocabulary to memorable examples will help them even more.
For example:
She BOUGHT me a chocolate cake because I FELT sad. I WILL EAT it all!
10mins - Conversation: If you could be any animal, what animal would you be? Where would you live? What food would you eat? Describe what you would do in a typical day.
15mins - Activity: Give the students an age, such as '5'. The students must write a sentence beginning with 'When I was 5...' followed by something that was true when they were this age. When the students understand the activity, try with the future tense. Ex: 'When I am 20, I will...'
