Explain that the line represents their life so far. The students should write their current age on the dotted line on the right. Give them an example of a memorable thing that happened in your childhood, for example 'When I was 8 I got a dog'. Draw a similar line on the board and draw an arrow to the position of 8 on the line, then a picture of a dog. Make sure they've understood that you are talking about something that happened in the past.
Take some time to discuss together examples from their own lives, indicating on the timeline each event.
Have them read the questions and show them how to respond in complete sentences. Ask them to write their responses individually, while you check their work and spelling.
It can be helpful to underline the verbs in each sentence. Remind them that when using 'did' in the past, the verb can stay in the present form, as we see in questions 4 and 6. When responding to these questions, they won't need the 'did' so they'll have to transform the verbs 'play' and 'go' into the past.
