This follows on from the previous lesson and they can use that worksheet as a reminder of the prepositions of movement.
After they have read out (and understood) the preposition to use for each picture, tell them to write an example sentence using the preposition. Do the first one together as an example.
10mins - Introduction: What is your address? When is your birthday? What time does class begin? When do you eat breakfast? When do we have English class? Ask students a variety of questions to practice the prepositions at, on and in.
- Remind the students: 'in' is the most general, 'on' is more specific and 'at' is the most specific. 'The film is at 9 pm. The film is on Tuesday. The film is in Rome.'
05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.
05mins - Revision: Simple past. Have each student write one question using the verb in the simple past and ask/record the answer of another student.05mins - Review: Prepositions. Review with preposition flashcards. Have the students follow a set of commands to check for understanding. Ex: Place a pencil on your head. Stand next to your desk. Walk around the room. Etc.
10mins - Activity: Split the class into two teams. The first member of each team will be shown a flashcard. The student who guesses the correct preposition first wins a point for their team. The students go to the end of the line, and the next two students face off.
