Teacher Guide

The students need to read the text and choose a word from the options provided to fill each gap. After helping them to complete the text, have them read it out loud and ask which words seem to fit naturally for them, and which don't. Help them to understand the words that are less familiar to them, and give other example sentences of how they are commonly used. It's also a good idea to review the simple past form of some common verbs.

05mins - Conversation: What is an example of a tradition? Does your family have any special traditions, like eating pizza on Wednesday nights, or going to the same place for a holiday?

05mins - Review homework - Answer any questions students may have.

05mins - Hot Topic: What did you...? Each student must ask a question about something that happened in the past. Ex:...do last weekend?... wear yesterday?...etc.) 05mins - Review: simple past: regular verb + ed. Irregular verbs change forms.

10mins - Worksheet: 06 simple past - my timeline

10mins - Activity: Correct the sentence: Write a paragraph on a piece of paper full of mistakes. Use the verb in the incorrect tense. Have the students pass the paper in a circle, trying to identify and correct the errors.

15mins - Test: 06 reading practice - part 4

05mins - Warm down: goodbye see you next time, points

00mins - Homework: Complete the next section of the online homework.
