Teacher Guide

Before doing the listening exercise, play the game 'Add to the list' - pretend you went to the supermarket and say one item you bought. The next student has to repeat what was said before and then add 1 new item.

Lesson Plan

:

14 Flyers Listening Part 3

10mins - Introduction: Beginning with the teacher, each person says one word at a time to further the story. Practice for correct verb tenses and linking expressions.

05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.

05mins - Review: Prepositions. Review with preposition flashcards. Have the students follow a set of commands to check for understanding. Ex: Place a pencil on your head. Stand next to your desk. Walk around the room. Etc.

10mins - Worksheet: 14 prepositions

10mins - Activity: Pretend you went to the supermarket and say what you bought. The next student repeats what was said before and adds something else to the list. To make it more difficult the next student must use the last letter from the previous food item for their food item.

15mins - Practice Test: 14 listening practice - part 3

05mins - Warm down: goodbye see you next time

00mins - Homework: complete the next section of the online homework.

Test Tip

1) Tell students questions and pictures are out of order.

2) Tell students to write the answer next to the box they think is correct. 3) On the second listening check and write the correct answer IN the box.

4) Review family members and places.

5) The information students will hear does not go in order, but listen closely for specific details.

6) There are two distractors, which will be mentioned in the dialogue and one example.
