17 Flyers Writing Part 1

05mins - Introduction: What did you do last weekend? Do you often do the same activities on the weekends? Do you prefer to see your friends or spend time with your family?

05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.

05mins - Review: Simple past verbs. Have each student write a question about an event that happened in the past. Ex: Where did you go on your summer holiday?

05mins - Review: The 24-hour clock + time vocabulary: a.m., p.m., past, to, a quarter past, half past, a quarter to, before, after, during

10mins - Activity: Alibi: Half the class are suspected of a murder and the other half are their alibis. In pairs, they have to create timelines of what they were doing the day of the murder. They are then questioned separately, and the pair with the most differences between their stories are the guilty ones.
