19 Flyers Listening Part 2

05mins - Introduction: Do you like to eat in restaurants? Why/Why not? What differences are there between what young people and older people like to eat? Do you think we should try to eat food that is produced locally? Why/why not? Which food or drinks do you think are unhealthy? Which food from your country would you miss the most if you lived abroad?

05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.

05mins - Review: Simple past verbs. Have each student write a question about an event that happened in the past. Ex: Where did you go on your summer holiday? What did you do last weekend?

05mins - Review: The 24-hour clock + time vocabulary: a.m., p.m., past, to, a quarter past, half past, a quarter to, before, after, during

10mins - Pre-teach: Comparatives (adj. + ER, more) and Superlatives (adj. + ER, most) - Have each student use one comparative sentence and one superlative sentence to describe a member of their family.

Test Tip

1) Tell students that the recording and questions go in order.

2) Students must write either a few words or a number in each space.

3) Students must write numbers numerically and not spell them.

4) There are distractors in listening, students must listen to the entire question before choosing the correct answer.

5) Review vowels as well as 'Y' and 'W'

6) Tell students they will hear listening twice, the first time they should write the answer, the second time they should check.
