05mins: Introduction: Speaking part 1 - What's your name? What's your surname? How do you spell that? Where do you live? What do you normally do on the weekends? Tell me about your favourite subject at school.
05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.
15mins - Activity: Sequencing events: Tell the class you will tell a story together. Each person will say one sentence at a time. Draw three simple pictures on the whiteboard that portray the progression of a storyline. Ex: A Christmas tree with a box. A girl opening a box. A kitten jumping out of the box. Write the following linking expressions under the images: first, then, next, after, finally. Students must tell a story describing the pictures and utilising the linking expressions - first in the present continuous, and then the same story in the past simple. Have each student draw their own picture story. Then, have students trade stories with a classmate and tell the story.
