Students at this level should know the common prepositions of placement: in, on, under, in front of, next to, behind and between. This worksheets looks at prepositions of movement. Introduce the prepositions with plenty fo example using classroom objects and yourself.
Have the students repeat the words as they copy the movements. Then they can fill out the crossword using the pictures and word bank. Have them each pick one or two to read out loud, and then demonstrate with a complete sentence.
Make sure to reinforce this new vocabulary in future lessons when speaking to the students. For example "pass the eraser across the table", "walk around the desk to come to the board", "sit across from someone new today", "push your pencils away from you worksheets please" or even "I walked along a nice path in the park on my way here today".
