This worksheet is trying to focus just on one simple part of the present perfect tense: that something that happened in the past has a consequence in the present moment.
Write out the structure of the present tense:
subject + has/have + past participle.
Have the students refer to their 'Past Participle' worksheet from lesson 9 as a reference guide. Make sure they know to use 'have' with the first and second singular and plural subjects and the third person plural subject (I, You, We, You and They) and 'has' with the third person singular subjects (He, She or It).
Help them to identify the verb in brackets that they will need to change to the past participle form. They'll also need to add in possessive adjectives in most cases. Check their answers at the end and have them read them out loud. Invite them to make their own sentences in this structure as extra practice.
Teach them that we use 'yet' to indicate that we expect this action will happen in the future. Write the two sentences:
"I haven't done my homework"
"I haven't done my homework yet"
Ask them the difference in meaning between these two sentences. Other examples might help: "I haven't got a tattoo yet". Ask the questions "Am I planning on getting. a tattoo in the future? How do we know?"
Teach that we use 'already' to say that something has happened before now, and usually we use it to say it happened before we expected. For example "Have you already finished?" suggests we are surprised and thought it would take longer.

Have each student ask and record the answer of one question to each of their classmates about something they have done in their lives. Ex: Have you eaten ice cream before? Have you ever been to Spain? Review corresponding adverbs such as: before, after, ever, never, already and yet.
10mins - Activity: Spot the lie: Each student tells their partner two truths and one lie (Ex: I have played the guitar; I have been to Asia) The other student must ask questions to try to detect the lie. After the partner unveils the lie, have the students switch roles.
