This is a vocabulary extension exercise but also a chance to check that your students are able to form a complete sentence correctly. They can choose any word, using the categories suggested if they like, but encourage them to choose interesting or challenging words if they are more advanced.
Have them read out their definitions then as a group guess what word it matches. Encourage students to be creative or funny if they like - learning while having fun is more long lasting! Have them write down the other students' words if they don't know them already and/or test them to use the words in a sentence.
10mins - Introduction: Do you like to eat in restaurants? Why/Why not? What differences are there between what young people and older people like to eat? Do you think we should try to eat food that is produced locally? Why/why not? Which food or drinks do you think are unhealthy? Which food from your country would you miss the most if you were living abroad?
05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Ask students to use these terms to make predictions about what they think they will do in the summer.
10mins - Activity: Describing occupations - Students must try to guess the occupation you are describing. Switch roles and have each student describe an occupation. (doctor, lawyer, firefighter, judge, waiter, teacher, writer, chemist, biologist)

Make sure students have given a useful definition for each word before starting the game! Check for any grammar or spelling errors.
