10mins - Revision: Simple Past Catch. Split the class into two teams. Each team must brainstorm a list of verbs and change them to the simple past. Team 1 will "throw" a verb in the simple present to team 2, who must correctly change the verb to the simple past to earn a point. If team 2 answers incorrectly, team 1 can steal the point if they know the correct answer.
10mins - Activity: Writing prompt: "Yesterday while I was at the park, I saw a dog with two heads!" Have the students write one sentence continuing the story. Students can provide information such as "what was the dog wearing?" or "what else was in the park?" Practice using the verb in the simple past.

**00mins - "**Dear Diary..." have each student write a paragraph as if it were an excerpt from their diary. Students can write about something that happened at school or a fun experience they had on the weekend. Students should practice writing verbs in the simple past.
