Explain that this exercise requires that the students write a response to an email from a friend. It is important that they:- start and finish their response well with a friendly greeting and sign off-answer all questions clearly-use a friendly and familiar tone. This worksheet shows two possible responses to a message from 'Alex'. Only one directly answers Alex's questions. Discuss this with the students then have them read the next message, from Alex. They need to write their response on the worksheet.

00mins - Homework: Complete the next section of the online homework.
1) You must write between 25 words or more.
2) Open and close with a salutation and a farewell.
3) Respond specifically to all three parts of the prompt.
4) Try to use different words and language than the ones that are used in the prompt. (e.g. borrow/lend - enjoy/would like)
5) Don't go off task!
The best response is the one on the right as it directly and clearly answers all of Alex's questions.

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your message. My favourite band is Queen. I listen to their CDs every day! I like the band because I find their music fun to dance to. What CD did you get?
See you soon,John.
