Have the students listen to the audio file twice and write the answers to the questions, paying attention to spelling.
10mins - Introduction: Imagine your life in ten years. Where will you be and what will you be doing? Do you think you will live in Rome, a different city or a different country? What will you do for work? What hobbies will you have? Practice using appropriate modal verbs.
05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.
05mins - Review: definitely - probably - perhaps - likely - will - might - chance - won’t. Refer to the introduction question. Have the students use the following words to provide a context of probability to their answers.10mins - Activity: Write a list of statements on the board: The sky is purple. Hippos make great pets. Pineapple is good on pizza. Learning English is easy. I am going to visit Paris next year. Ask the students to rewrite each sentence, modifying it with an adverb of certainty. Introduce: apparently, surely, obviously, hopefully, hypothetically, and actually.
