Teacher Guide

Have the students write simple sentences to describe each picture, linking it into a story. Remind them to use the simple past.

Lesson Plan

:

28 Key Reading Part 3

10mins - Introduction: Speaking part 2 - Students will be required to talk together with their partner about things in the pictures. They should engage with one another, asking questions about what they see and giving each other time to speak. They should talk about whether they like the things in the pictures. Do you like... Do you enjoy... What do you think about... (why/why not) Remind students they should give reasons for their answers. They should not answer with a simple 'yes' or 'no'. Remind them to always say 'because....' and provide a reason.

Do you like these different places in town? Say why or why not. (Write the following places on the board.)

'The cinema, shops, the museum, tennis courts, and the bus stop.'

Split the students into pairs and have them engage in a discussion.

**

15mins** - Activity: Ask each student to write an email to a friend inviting them to a party at their house. The email should include information about the day and time of the event, what the weather might be like, and make a suggestion about an activity they could do at the party. Then, ask students to erase the prepositions and articles. Have the students' trade papers and fill in the missing information.

15mins - Worksheet: 28 reading practice - part 3 - Review the answers.

15mins - Practice Test: 28 writing practice - part 2 - Review the answers.

05mins - Warm down: what will you do this weekend?

00mins - Homework: web homework
