The students need to read the text and choose a word from the options provided to fill each gap. After helping them to complete the text, have them read it out loud and ask which words seem to fit naturally for them, and which don't. Help them to understand the words that are less familiar to them, and give other example sentences of how they are commonly used.
15mins - Introduction: Speaking part 2 - Review the questions words: Who, what, where, when and why? Discuss questions you would need to ask if you were searching for information about an event or competition. Brainstorm a list of situations you may need to ask information about: theatre show, museum visit, movie times, sports competitions. Have the students create 5 questions to ask about each event.
10mins - Activity: Discuss different terms that can be used to make suggestions: Shall we (go...) How about (going...?) Let's (go...) We could (go...) Would you like (to go...?) Have students stand in a circle, making suggestions to each other about what they should do on the weekend. If a student hesitates or repeats, they are eliminated.

1) Skim read the text for general meaning.
2) Without looking at the answers, think of a word that fits in the gap.
3) Then re-read each sentence and choose the correct answer.
4) After choosing an answer, check the other two answers and decide why they're wrong.
5) Review verb forms, pronouns and determiners.
