Review the present continuous form and how to construct a complete sentence using it (subject + verb to be + verb+ing). Help the students to match the correct form of the verb 'to be' to each pronoun used. Show them that some present continuous words have a double consonant, such as 'sitting' and 'running'. Remind students that we use this form to describe actions that are happening now.
05mins - Introduction: If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Would you be a bad guy or good guy? What is an example of someone who is a superhero in real life?
10mins - Review: Present continuous. (Pronoun + 'to be' + verbING) Brainstorm a list of regular verbs. Ask the students to change these verbs in the present continuous form. Act out a series of activities, and have the students guess what you are doing. (ex: "you are walking!" or, "you are reading a book!")
10mins - Activity: 'What are they doing?' Split the class into two teams. Give each team a different picture with many people doing different activities. Ask the students to write 5 sentences describing what the people are doing in each photograph. Use the present continuous form.
