05 Movers Writing Part 2

05mins - Introduction: Ask each student to describe one item in the room, using an adjective + preposition. (E.g. the new computer is on the table). Ask each student to use the present continuous to describe an action or state of someone in the room. (E.g. She is smiling, or she is wearing a black t-shirt)

05mins - Review homework - Answer any questions students have

10mins - Hot Topic: use wearing, pointing and holding in sentences. (what are you doing?) Students ask each other questions to practice using the present continuous form.10mins - Review: simple past: regular verb + ed. Irregular verbs change forms.

15mins - Worksheet: 05 simple past - what did they do?

10mins - Game/Activity: spelling bee (using verbs in the past and +ING) - Students must correctly spell the verb and use it in a sentence.

15mins - Test: 05 writing practice - part 2

05mins - Warm down: goodbye see you next time, points

00mins - Homework: Complete the next section of the online homework.

Test Tip

1) Before looking at the picture, read the questions carefully and underline keywords.

2) Pay close attention to question words and actions.

3) In questions 3-6 remind the students to write complete sentences!

4) Tell students to use the present continuous and adjectives to help identity what person is doing what action. (E.g. The girl with the red jumper is eating ice cream.)

5) Tell students to use prepositions to describe the placement of people in the picture.

6) Review the following verbs: doing, wearing, holding, pointing, sitting
