Teacher Guide

Lesson Plan

:

31 Movers Reading Part 4

10mins: Introduction: Speaking part 2 - Picture story. Use picture story speaking cards to have students practice speaking part 2. In this part, students are given the name of the story and a description of the first picture. Students must then describe the other three pictures, in the correct order, demonstrating they are capable of following the sequencing of events.

10mins: Skill practice: Utilising a movers help card that contains an image of people doing things, ask students a variety of questions about what is happening in the picture. What is the man in the (coloured) shirt doing? What is the weather like? Who is the boy smiling at? Where is the fish?...etc. Ask students to make their own observations about the images.

15mins: Test: 31 reading practice - part 3 - Review the answers.

15mins: Worksheet: 31 reading practice - part 4 - Review the answers.

05mins: Review: Comparatives + superlatives - have students write two comparative and two superlative sentences about the class.

05mins: Warm down: goodbye see you next time, points

00mins: Homework: complete the next section of the online homework.

Test Tip

1) Students need to read the text and choose the correct word from a choice of three. For practice, have the students read the whole text without looking at the possible answers. Then look at the options and choose the best one for each gap, focusing on the words that come before and after the gap.

2) Remind the students to copy the words from the list for correct spelling. Read through the text together and check.
