10mins - Review: Relative clauses - A phrase that begins with a relative pronoun and provides further information about someone, something or somewhere. Have the students create a 'false' piece of information about each classmate, using a relative clause. Ex: Eugene, the man who ate 1,000 bananas, will participate in the banana eating competition this year.

(verb + ing; to + verb) Both can be an object of the sentence or the subject of a verb, but only a gerund can be the object of a preposition. (Ex: I can improve my English by studying often. Gerunds are used to express actions that are real, concrete and completed. (Ex: The baby stopped crying.) Infinitives are used to express actions that are unreal, abstract, or may occur in the future. (Ex: I wanted to become an actress.)
