16 PET Writing Part 2

10mins - Conversation: Have the student(s) tell a story using the story cubes for inspiration. Write the following expressions on the white-board: before, when, then, while, after, it wasn't until, finally, during, immediately, first of all, whenever, as soon as. Encourage the student(s) to use each expression.

05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.

05mins - Pre-teach: Direct and Indirect speech - How to retell what someone else has said. Practice a few examples on the white-board together.

10mins - Activity: Life advice: Each student must write a quote about "how to live a good life" on a piece of paper, using direct speech to quote themselves. The students trade papers, and read them out loud, changing the speech from direct to indirect.

10mins - Worksheet: 16 direct and indirect speech

15mins - Test: 16 writing practice - part 2

05mins - Warm down: what will you do next week? This weekend?
