Teacher Guide

Lesson Plan

:

23 PET Reading Part 5

15mins - Conversation: Speaking part 3 - Have the students work in pairs to discuss the images presented on the help cards. For private lessons, the teacher should assume the role of the student partner. Encourage the students to focus on what the people in the pictures are doing/feeling.

05mins - Review the online homework. What topics were discussed? Was the homework easy, medium or difficult? Answer any questions the students may have.

10mins - Review: linking expressions: Because, as, so, since, therefore, such, enough, too, despite, although, in case, in fact. Discuss: definitely, probably, perhaps, likely, will, might, chance, won’t. Use linking expressions + adverbs of certainty to make predictions about they will do in the summer.

10mins - Worksheet: 23 linking expressions

15mins - Test: 23 reading practice - Part 5 - Review the answers.

05mins - Warm down: what will you do next week? This weekend?
