Help the students to read each notice and talk together about the meaning of it. What message is it tying to communicate? To whom? From whom? Explain that the options provided may seem correct but may have some detail incorrect. Have them underline any words that are unfamiliar to them, and help them to understand them with examples. Have them try to select the answer by themselves and then discuss together why the other options were not correct. It is a good idea to review phrasal verbs and modal verbs.
1) Read all of the questions and think about the context. 2) The options may not repeat the exact words of the text, so read each option carefully.
3) Double check to make sure if you need to search for positive or negative information. (E.g. too, enough, not and comparatives/superlatives.)
4) The words in the question will be different from the words you hear in the text. Search for synonyms and antonyms.
5) The information is in order. Answer the questions as you listen, on the second listening, check them.
6) Each question is an isolated task, students will need to consider who is speaking and how many people are speaking in each question.
7) Remember that 'Thank you, but actually...' or 'thanks, I'm okay...' are negative.
