Teacher Guide

Help the students read each notice and talk together about the meaning of it. What message is it trying to communicate? To whom? From whom? Explain that the options provided may seem correct but may have some detail incorrect. Have them underline any words that are unfamiliar to them, and help them to understand them with examples. Have them try to select the answer by themselves and then discuss together why the other options were not correct. It is a good idea to review phrasal verbs and modal verbs.

Test Tip

  1. Read the sign or notice and determine the meaning. Read each option, then choose the answer that best paraphrases the information from the sign.
  2. Read the chosen option again to check that the meanings match.
  3. Review phrasal verbs.
