10mins - Introduction: Conversation - Ask the students what they have been doing during the week/weekend. Encourage them to think and speak about anything interesting they may have read, seen or heard. Speak about their thoughts on current events.
20mins - Review writing. The student is to send across the pieces of writing they have completed over the course of the week. Give feedback, areas for improvement and correct any spelling and grammar mistakes.
15mins - 19 listening practice - part 1
15mins - Creative Task: Research project - set the student a research project. Ask the student to select and then read up on a cult and begin to create a factual piece of writing about it (finish for homework).
05mins - Warm down: I will set the student chapters of the book to read for homework whilst contemplating any new themes and/or characters that may appear.
1) This part tests the candidate’s ability to follow the main points of a text and retrieve specific information and stated opinion.
2) You will be given some time before the recording begins. Use that time to underline key information in the questions.3) You will hear three extracts with two questions for each.
4) The questions will tell you exactly who the people that are talking are and what information you should be looking for.
5) On the first listening, choose an answer. Wait until the recording is finished to do so. Choosing an answer too early in the recording could mean missing vital information. On the second listening, double-check the answer.
6) If you don't know the answer, take a guess.
