Teacher Guide

This is an introduction to connecting adjectives with nouns, as well as a review of animal vocabulary. The students should choose adjectives that match each animal and write the complete sentence. For the lower sentences check that they are including the verb 'to be'. While they colour the pictures have them repeat out loud the complete sentence they've written.

Lesson Plan

:

03 Starters Listening Part 1

05mins - Introduction: Circle questions: What's your name, how old are you, and where are you from? What's one thing you have got in your bedroom? What's one thing your friend has got in their bedroom?

10mins - Pre-Teach: adjectives: adjectives are used to describe a person, place or thing. Brainstorm a list of adjectives together, and give examples for each.

10mins - Game/Activity: picture adjective - students write lists of adjectives based on photos. If you don't have any pictures with you, try drawing some common nouns like animals, places, and people.

20mins - Worksheet: 03 animals and adjectives - Use the adjectives at the bottom of the page to complete the sentences, then create sentences of your own!

10mins - Practice Test: 03 listening practice - part 1

05mins - Warm down: goodbye see you next time

00mins - Homework: Draw a picture of three nouns (one animal, one place, one person) and write two adjectives for each.
