Teacher Guide

This worksheet is designed to revise the days of the week but also to introduce and familiarise the students with new vocabulary and question structures. In particular 'today, tomorrow, yesterday, after, before and between'.

Encourage the students to read the questions out loud and take turns responding to them, in complete sentences.

Lesson Plan

:

14 Starters Writing Part 1

10mins - Introduction: What's your name, age, and where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters? What's your favourite colour, hobby, food...etc. Have the students write one question and pass it in a circle. Each student must write one question and answer a different one in a complete sentence.

05mins - Review: Days of the week and corresponding terminology: today, tomorrow, yesterday, week, next week, last week, weekend, etc.

05mins - Game: Miming verbs - review common verbs through miming such as: run, jump, walk, eat, play, ride a bicycle, take a photo, swim, sleep and drink. Introduce: touch, wear, hold and do.

10mins - Worksheet: 14 days of the week

15mins - Practice Test: 14 writing practice - part 1

10mins - Game: Telephone with spelling. Spell a 'Days of the week' word to the first student, and they must spell the word to the next student until each student has heard and repeated what the teacher spelt. The final student must spell and then say the word out loud to the class.

05mins - Warm down: goodbye see you next time, points
