First show the students the picture and have them try and name as many of the items that they can. Try asking 'What is he/she doing?' about some of the people and help them to reply correctly.
Have the students read each of the sentences on the worksheet and underline the nouns that they can identify in the picture. Help them to check if the information in each sentence is correct and then write 'yes' or 'no' accordingly. When it is not correct, help them to identify the problem. For example, in question 2, the duck is in front of, not behind the elephants.
Have the students read the correct sentences out loud and then try to read corrected versions of the incorrect sentences out loud. For example in set two, question 1 "A boy is sitting on the big elephant."
05mins - Introduction: Have you got any pets? Have you ever had a cat or dog? Which do you prefer, and why? What are some types of the differences between these two animals? What are the similarities?
05mins - Review homework. Discuss any questions of problems.
10mins - Activity: I'm going on a picnic, and with me, I will bring... The first person recites the phrase and adds one item to the list, such as 'a dog.' If a student forgets an item in the list when it is their turn, they are eliminated.
