First look at the pictures and encourage the students to point and name and/or describe as many of the things in the picture as they can. Check that they know 'girl' and 'boy'.
Review the use of the 'ing' ending for present continuous verbs by repeating several examples about what the people in the picture are doing.
Have the students read the questions and underline the key question words in each question. Help them to understand the questions and ask them to respond. Point to the part of the picture in question and discuss the options for responses.
Check their spelling of the words they've written. Go over any of the vocbaulary that wasn't familiar and make a note to repeat it in future lessons.
10mins - Introduction: What is one thing you can see on the desk? Who is sitting next to you? What am I holding in my hand? Where is your school bag? Ask general questions about things visible in the classroom utilising: who, what and where. Focus on verbs such as: holding, sitting, standing and pointing.
10mins - Pre-teach: Introduce prepositions with preposition flash cards. 'In, on, under, in front of, behind.' Sing a song utilising these prepositions for reinforcement.
10mins - Review: Play a game using preposition flashcards and coloured pens. One at a time, instruct students to take a coloured pen. Then, have them choose a preposition flash card. The student must demonstrate what's on the flashcard using the pen. Help them form a sentence to describe their action. (E.g. I put the pen on the table.)
