This is a vocabulary check presented as a cute riddle. Tell the students that 2 of the options below won't be used.
It can be helpful to do a quick review of 'can' and 'can't' first by giving some simple examples paired with verbs. Such as "I can jump but I can't fly", "fish can swim but they can't walk".
After they've tried to match the words from below into the gaps, have them read it out loud and check that it makes sense. Check that they've understood each word. Cover up the labels and see if they can name the objects in the pictures. Have they put them in a logical place or just guessed? For more advanced students, ask them follow up questions such as 'are babies small or big? old or young? soft or hard?'.
05mins - Introduction: Beginner questions: What's your name? How old are you? Where are you from? What is your favourite day of the week? What do you do on this day?

Ask a variety of questions asking about a number of different things you can see in the room. Use questions that combine numbers and prepositions. (e.g. how many pens are on the table)
