19 Starters Listening Part 3

10mins - Introduction: What day was yesterday? What did you eat for dinner? What did you do after-school? What do you usually do after school? Review days of the week and use events from the day before to help shape the idea of past tense verbs.

10mins - Review: clothes/nouns flash cards, use prepositions to have the students to place them around the room.

10mins - Pre-teach: regular verbs in the simple past. +ED. Create sentences using the verb in the simple past + days of the week. Ex: Yesterday I walked to school.

10mins - Worksheet: 19 simple past

15mins - Practice Test: 19 listening practice - part 3

05mins - Warm down: goodbye see you next time, points

Test Tip

1) Instruct students to write A, B and C on a piece of paper. Play the example question and have students tick the correct answer. Repeat if necessary.

2) Teach students that some questions will have 'can' and 'want' and review meaning.

3) Teach students they will hear all options and to listen for yes or no before each option.

4) Tell students they will hear listening twice, first time write the answer. The second time check.
