First look at the picture and encourage the students to point and name and/or describe as many of the things in the picture as they can. Check that they know 'girl' and 'boy'.
Review the use of the 'ing' ending for present continuous verbs by repeating several examples about what the people in the picture are doing.
Have the students read the questions and underline the key question words in each question. Help them to understand the questions and ask them to respond. Point to the part of the picture in question and discuss the options for responses.
Check their spelling of the words they've written. Go over any of the vocabulary that wasn't familiar and make a note to repeat it in future lessons.
It is useful to review the articles 'a' and 'the'.
05mins - Introduction: Ask questions using the words 'which' and 'how many'. Encourage students to take notice of distinguishing features between objects. Which student is wearing a blue shirt? How many chairs are in this room? Which students have a green folder?
10mins - Activity: Preposition review: Ask the students to draw different coloured shapes on a page, using prepositions as instructions. Ask students where each shape is. Students should use correct prepositions to describe their placement.
10mins - Game: Write scrambled words on the whiteboard: bewlo, dhea, rma, hudleosr, gel, sone, etc. - (mention that they are body parts). Ask the students to unscramble them.
05mins - Review: Question words - Review: who, what, where, when, why and how. Write a question on the board with a blank space where the question should be. Students must guess what questions word is missing.
