30 Starters Listening Part 4

10mins - Introduction: Questions from speaking part 1: What's your name and surname? How do you spell your surname? Where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters? What is the name of your school? How do you spell that? Name two objects you have got in your room? Be sure that students can answer all of these questions in complete sentences.

10mins - Skill practice: Spelling test - Tell a story about any topic of your choosing. (monsters, school, a day at the park). As you tell the story, stop at certain moments and spell the name of a character or a number. Students must write down the names and numbers they hear on a piece of paper.

10mins - Worksheet: 30 listening practice - part 4 - review the answers.

15mins - Test: 30 reading practice - part 4 - review the answers.

10mins - Review: Using a speaking help card + object flash cards, ask the students to place the cards in various locations of the photo. Ex: Place the seashell on the table. Etc.

05mins - Warm down: goodbye see you next time, points

Test Tip

1) Cover pictures and get students to guess the words before answering.

2) Teach students to look at words before and after each gap.

3) Tell students there are 3 more words than required.
