Teacher Guide

Use this page to review previous topics: introduction questions, numbers, emotions , colours and animals. It's a good chance to do an art and craft activity, or draw a picture together then label the page with the key vocabulary already covered.

Lesson Plan

:

12 - Year 1 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters?

10mins: Review emotions - draw different faces on the whiteboard and ask students to say + spell them. Ask each student: How are you? Help them respond in complete sentences. (e.g. I am happy)

10mins: Activity: How many are there? The teacher will go first as an example. Hold a number of coloured pens behind your back. Ask the question "how many pens are there?" Students can then guess, using complete sentences. (There are three pens, there is one pen, etc.) When a student guesses correctly, it becomes their turn. Continue until every student has had a chance.

25mins: Worksheet: Review time - Please plan a craft or creative activity to reinforce 'animals'. Please remember to sign out any materials you use from the C.E. library.

05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
