Help the students to identify the body part words hidden in the wordfind, and circle the word. They should colour each word with a different colour to make it easier to see. Then they should copy the word below the matching picture.
10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters? Can you ride a bike? Can you swim? Ask the student some questions using 'can'. Encourage them to respond in complete sentences. (E.g. Yes, I can swim.)
10mins: Review: I like - Play telephone: Split the students into two teams. The teams will sit on the floor in a circle. Say a sentence to the first student by whispering it in their ear. They must then whisper it to the next student. The message will go around the circle until it arrives at the last person. This person must stand up and say the sentence. If they are correct, the team earns one point. Focus on using 'I like/don't like' + actions.
10mins: Review: Body parts - Play 'pin the parts on the monster'. Bring the Monster poster, body part attachments, sticky tack and dice to the lesson. Make a list 1-6, and assign each number a body part. Each student gets a turn to roll the die, and pin the corresponding body part to the monster. If there is enough time, allow the students two turns.
10mins: Extension: **'**How many are there?' Ask the students questions about how many body parts are on the monster. E.g. 'How many heads are there?' 'How many legs are there?' Students must respond in complete sentences.
15mins: Worksheet: 27 body parts
05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
