Use this page to review previous topics: introduction questions, numbers, colours, emotions, animals, school objects, action words, 'I like / I don't like' and body parts. It's a good chance to do an art and craft activity, or draw a picture together then label the page with the key vocabulary already covered.
10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters? Can you ride a bike? Can you swim? Ask the student some questions using 'can'. Encourage them to respond in complete sentences. (E.g. Yes, I can swim.)
10mins: Review: I like - Play telephone: Split the students into two teams. The teams will sit on the floor in a circle. Say a sentence to the first student by whispering it in their ear. They must then whisper it to the next student. The message will go around the circle until it arrives at the last person. This person must stand up and say the sentence. If they are correct, the team earns one point. Focus on using 'I like/don't like' + actions.
10mins: How many? - The teacher will ask the students how many body parts are in the class. The students and teacher will count together, and then say complete sentences describing the results. E.g. 'How many heads are there?' '1,2,3,4,5' 'There are 5 heads.' Continue until all body parts have been counted.
05mins: Simon says - play Simon says to quickly review body parts.
20mins: Worksheet: page 29 - review time. Please plan a craft or creative activity to reinforce 'verbs'. Please remember to sign out any materials you use from the C.E. library.
05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
