Teacher Guide

Ask the students to draw themselves in the box and then complete the sentences. Note the use of 'have got' for the pronoun 'I', and 'has got' for 'he or she'. Show them that the adjective comes before the body part in the sentence. Have them read their completed sentences out loud.

06 - Year 2 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? What's your favourite colour?

10mins: Review: Colours - Review colours using coloured markers. Ask students 'What colour is this' and have them respond 'It's (colour)'. Review question form: What's your favourite colour? (My favourite colour is________.)

10mins: Review: Body parts - play 'Simon says' with body parts.

10mins: Game: 'Have you got? - Gather students in a circle. Ask the student to your left a question using 'have you got' and a number of body parts or an adjective. E.g. 'Have you got four eyes?' The answer should be no. If the student answers correctly, it's their turn to ask a question. If they answer incorrectly, they're eliminated.

15mins: Worksheet: page 07 - body parts

05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.

Answers

Possible answers:

  2. He has got two short thumbs.
  3. She has got two small ears.
  4. She has got seven long legs
  5. I have got two strong knees.
  6. I have got two pink hands.

Check that the number matches the form of the body part used (plural or singular).
