The students need to rearrange the letters to spell the days of the week correctly. While they colour, have them repeat the days of the week and get familiar with the order.
10mins - Introduction: Beginner questions: What's your name, how old are you, where are you from?
Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.
10mins - Review: Body parts - Ask students how many of each body part are in the room. For example: How many heads are there? (If there are 5 students in the class and one teacher, there would be 6 heads). How many elbows are there? How many fingers are there? Etc. Encourage students to answer in complete sentences: There are ____ heads.10mins - Pre-teach: Days of the week - teach student 'days of the week song'. Add movements and gestures to make it fun!
15mins - Worksheet: 09 days of the week
10mins - Activity: Spelling elimination! Gather students in a circle. Say a day of the week (e.g. Monday). Beginning with the student on your left, each student must say the next letter to spell the word correctly. S1: M, S2: O, S3:N, etc. If this game is too difficult, try starting at a random place in the circle and saying the first day of the week, then point to the next student, who must say the next day. Once the students are confident, you can eliminate anyone who makes a mistake.
05mins - Warm down: Goodbye, see you next time + points.
Left column: Monday, Friday
Middle column: Saturday, Wednesday
Right column: Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday
