Teacher Guide

The students need to complete the sentences using the appropriate family word considering the perspective of the person in the picture. Afterwards they can colour the pictures as you help them to repeat the words out loud.

Lesson Plan

18 - Year 2 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction: Beginner questions: What's your name, how old are you, where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters?

Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.

10mins: Review: 'Put the ball' - Give students instructions using prepositions and the verb 'put'.

10mins: Review: family words - Ask students to describe their family. Write family words on the whiteboard. Ask students questions about their families. Focus on use of 'have you got...?'

10mins: 'This is my family' - Complete the family tree worksheet.

15mins: Worksheet: page 19 - family relationships

05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
