After demonstrating each verb to the students, have them connect the words to the boxes and draw/colour pictures to illustrate the verbs. While they draw and colour, repeat the words together - acting them out.
10mins: Introduction: Beginner questions: What's your name, how old are you, where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters?
Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.
10mins: Review: family words - Ask students to describe their family. Write family words on the whiteboard. Ask students questions about their families. Focus on use of 'have you got...?'
10mins: Review - simple present. 'Listen and repeat' have students listen, repeat and act out verbs that the teacher introduces. Use 'walk, run, swim, drink, write, dance, sit, stand, read and sleep'.
10mins: Game: How many verbs - Choose one student to go first. This student will have 30 seconds to act out as many verbs as they can. The teacher will say a verb, and if the student can act it out, they receive a point. The student with the most points wins.
15mins: Worksheet: 20 simple present
05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
Check that the pictures are connected to the correct verb.
