Teacher Guide

The students need to complete the sentences using action words in the simple present tense. They can use the previous worksheet for reference. Have them read the sentences out loud at the end.

Lesson Plan

:

22 - Year 2 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction: Beginner questions: What's your name, how old are you, where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters?

Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.

10mins: Review: family words - Ask students to describe their family. Write family words on the whiteboard. Ask students questions about their families. Focus on the use of 'have you got...?'

10mins: Game: How many verbs - Choose one student to go first. This student will have 30 seconds to act out as many verbs as they can. The teacher will say a verb, and if the student can act it out, they receive a point. The student with the most points wins.

25mins: Worksheet: Review time - Please plan a craft or creative activity to reinforce 'simple present'. Please remember to sign out any materials you use from the C.E. library.

05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
