Teacher Guide

Help the students to label each picture with the room of the house that it depicts. Then they can connect the words on the right to the correct object in the picture. While they colour, talk to them (review and repeat).

Lesson Plan

:

25 - Year 2 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction: Beginner questions: What's your name, how old are you, where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters?

Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.

10mins: Review: family words - Ask students to describe their family. Write family words on the whiteboard. Ask students questions about their families. Focus on use of 'have you got...?'

10mins: Review: House words - draw a house on the whiteboard with four visible rooms. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room. Then, ask students what you should draw in each room. Use furniture to help children understand which room is which.

15mins: Draw the directions - Have students draw an empty house with four different rooms. Ask them to label each room. Then, give verbal instructions about what furniture to draw and where to draw it.

10mins: Worksheet: 25 house rooms

05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
