Use this page to review previous topics: introduction questions, colours, have got, body parts, action words, days of the week, prepositions, family words, house words and adjectives. It's a good chance to do an art and craft activity, or draw a picture together then label the page with the key vocabulary already covered.
10mins: Introduction: Beginner questions: What's your name, how old are you, where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters?
Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.
05mins: Review: family words - Ask students to describe their family. Write family words on the whiteboard. Ask students questions about their families. Focus on the use of 'have you got...?'
10mins - Activity: 'Place the ball' - Give students instructions using prepositions and the verb 'put'.
10mins: Review: adjectives and opposites. Give each student one flashcard, and scatter the other flashcards on the floor. The students will take turns flipping over a flashcard to see if they can find the 'opposite' that matches their card.
10mins: Hot potato - the students will pass a ball in a circle while the teacher plays a song. When the teacher stops, the teacher will say an adjective, and the student holding the ball must say the opposite.
10mins: Adjective shoot-out - students stand in a circle and the teacher stands in the middle. The teacher will point at a student, who has to crouch down on the floor. The two students on the other side of them will be competing. Say an adjective and the student who says the opposite first gets to stay. The other student is eliminated.
05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
