Teacher Guide

This is an introduction to connecting adjectives with nouns, as well as a review of animal vocabulary. After identifying each animal the students should choose an adjective that matches it and write the complete sentence below the picture. While they colour the picture have them repeat out loud the complete sentence they've written.

03 - Year 3 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from?

10mins: Name game - Students must say the name of all their classmates, using the correct pronoun. (E.g. His name is Federico, her name is Elena... etc.)

10mins: Animal charades - students act out, guess and spell animals. Make a big list on the board and see how many animals students already know!

10mins: Review: Animals and adjectives - write a list of animals and then a list of adjectives next to it. Have students come to the board one at a time to draw lines from animals to the adjectives that describe them.

15mins: Worksheet: 03 animal writing05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten out the classroom.
