10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? What's your favourite animal? What's one adjective to describe that animal? What's your favourite day of the week?
10mins: Review: Animals and adjectives - Use adjectives to describe animals. Students try to guess the animal.
10mins: Review: Days of the week - sing a 'days of the week' song.
10mins: Pre-teach: is/was - using the 'Days of the Week' flashcards, have one student hold 'today', one hold 'yesterday' and a third hold 'tomorrow'. Have the students repeat the sentences 'Today is _________', 'Yesterday was _________', and 'tomorrow will be _________.' Then, scramble the cards. Tell the students 'Today is ______ (choose a random day).' The student with that card must stand in the middle, and the students who have the days that represent 'yesterday' and 'tomorrow' must take the correct position in line.
